Willie shines again
An Anthony Hamilton concert is like visiting an old friend, sharing memories and new experiences. His vocal interpretations vary, making old favorites seem new. Each visit with Anthony is special and memorable in unexpected ways. The highlights at his Feb. 2 show in Stockton, CA, for me, were an instrumental duet with "Little Sister Bobbie" and a soulful rendition of "You Were Always on My Mind." Age is catching up with Anthony in one regard - he's lost a little zip on his fastball. The bandanas he throws into the audience don't get past the first row anymore, but we can all live with that.
